Jura Marble is a limestone quarried in the Bavarian national park, Altmuehltal. The stone is quarried in 25 layers providing a wide variety of color and texture.
The geology of the stone dates back to the Jurassic Period of approximately 140 million years ago. The stone contains evidence of prehistoric flora and fauna with contributes to the rich characteristics of this type of limestone.
A dense, fine- grained calcareous sandstone. The combination of lime, quartz grain and glauconite produces the unique green color which is contrasted by occasional gray and dark green fossilization.
Solnhofen Natural Stone
The natural quarry rough texture of Solnhofen Stone provides a safe, non-slip surface. The high thermal conductivity prevents the surface from extreme heating, even in the hottest weather. Compared to split quarzites or flamed granites, Solnhofen Stone has a cooler surface and a naturally smooth surface structure.
